Meet the Composer

Isha Asabe is a film composer, orchestrator, and conductor from Mumbai, India, currently based in Los Angeles. Known for blending Indian classical traditions with modern Hollywood orchestration, she creates evocative, emotionally rich scores that bridge cultures and expand cinematic storytelling. She has collaborated on numerous short films with the USC School of Cinematic Arts (SCA) and NYU Tisch School of the Arts, and has recorded her music with LA’s top studio musicians at renowned studios including United Recording, Evergreen Studios, EastWest Studios, and the Colburn School. Isha has studied closely under leading composers and orchestrators such as Patrick Kirst, Pete Anthony, Bruce Broughton, Lolita Ritmanis, Garry Schyman and J.Cowen.

She holds a Bachelor of Music in Composition for Film & Visual Media (2025) from the Musicians Institute, Hollywood, and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Screen Scoring at the USC Thornton School of Music (2026). Her work spans award-winning animated shorts, hybrid electronic scores, rescores, chamber ensembles, and cross-cultural collaborations. With a background that includes guitar performance, Hindustani classical training, and contemporary orchestration, Isha thrives in stories that demand depth, sensitivity, and bold musical identity. She is passionate about projects that allow her to explore expressive worlds—whether intimate, fantastical, or epic—and is committed to crafting music that resonates with audiences across cultures.
